Deerest Friends, Seen and Unseen, Known and Unknown..........
Please do yourself the favor of visitng The Haiku Year. I discovered the first book at the church of books, Powell's in Portland, OR, and immediately gave a copy to my brother and sister-in-law as a gift for a major, commercialized upcoming holiday. I read through my own copy quickly. I got so into it, I forced co-workers to listen to me reading some of my faves, while I completely cracked up with laughter. There are gorgeous, touching, sexy and smack-down hilarious haiku presented there.
The project began with seven friends (incl Michael Stipe, Grant Lee Phillips and Steve Earle) who decided to keep in touch by writing/exchanging haiku everyday for a year.
